Post 1: THE WORST PLACE I HAVE BEEN

The worst place I have been but very interesting is located in Paraguay, called "Ciudad del Este". It is located at the eastern end of the Eastern Region of the Republic of Paraguay, it's a very important city for it's economic development. The city is not ugly, I mean, Paraguay is beautiful. We arrived in that country from a long trip and we stayed in the first hotel we found in the center of the city, it wasn't the most vulnerable neighborhood in the area, but neither the most luxurious, we were basically located in the heart of the trade, so there it was a lot of movement of people and traffic. During the day I didn't notice anything weird, although a lot of people were stunner to me, untill all, the movement ended around 3-4 pm, since that hour the streets were empty, and I observed all from my hotel window because my parents didn't let me go out at night.

It sounds like if I had to ask permission, but we were in an unknown country and it was the first time something like this happened to me, and I understood. From the window I could see the drug trafficking and a militarized zone, special forces walking around at night watching the neighborhood, among other things, but, it's not very different from other realities in South America, but...

The most incredible thing was when we had to cross the border, see, Ciudad del Este is united to Brazil through the International Friendship Bridge over the Paraná River, so to enter the country you have to cross the bridge, a very simple task, because they don't even control that border control. I mean, you could arrive and pass to another country, obviusly we presented our international documents, but it didn't feel like the same mandatory process to entry to any other country, in fact, as it is area of such good comerce many people came from Brazil back and forth just to buy, I could watch how they passed the border with their bags, then you can imagine what kind of transportation is done without a great control.

It's not that I hated it, what I didn't like was the little control that can exist in something as important as the border from one country to another, you let anything "in and out", anyone, cars, trucks, which also makes it interesting because the traffic of money, among so many other things, the cultural exchange and social transformations that people live in that territory are a topic of conversation.
